Badag

Badag... the first rural village we visited with the DCH.

Typical home in town.

Yes... technically Kris is closer to the camera but he's still much bigger than these people. We're like giants here!

More town.

Oxen... are they cool? Look at those horns!

I'm always really hesitant to take pictures. I always ask. This woman actually stopped us and asked me to take her picture.

So did her friends :)

Sugar Cane

I was trying to take a picture of the milk behind these men but they really wanted me to take their picture as well. Notice the beautiful buganvilia... big as trees here.

One of the biggest health hazards to women here is the smoke they inhale from cooking with a wood burning stove inside the house without ventilation. So, the social workers here go out and teach the women about these smokeless stoves and help them to build them. The smoke is shunted out the black pipe at the back out through the rooftop. Pretty innovative.

This woman's kitchen. They clean the pots here with dirt which is an excellent abrasive. Then they just rinse with water.

The clinic building donated by a farmer from the community.

If only you see the driver. He's got more hair on his ears than Stella has on her head!
